Bangalore, August 4, 2016: Namma Bengaluru Foundation and IIM Bangalore are partnering for the Public Policy Hackathon at IIM Bangalore, from August 6 to August 10. The hackathon is being conducted as part of the XI Annual International Conference on Public Policy & Management, hosted by the Centre for Public Policy at IIMB. The aim of the hackathon is to address public policies, challenges and concerns that affect the day to day life of Indians and identify data-based evidence for social policy reform. The contest is open to people from all walks of life – social scientists, data scientists, business analysts, software developers, designers, economists, social activists and public policy practitioners. Participants will need three key skills – communication, analysis and coding.

Winners will be given cash awards. The winner will be awarded a prize of INR 40,000, the first runner-up will get INR 20,000 and the second runner-up will win INR 10,000. The jury members are Sridhar Pabbisetty, CEO, Namma Bengaluru Foundation, Dr. Hema Swaminathan, Faculty member from the Centre for Public Policy at IIMB and Dr. Arnab Mukherji, Chairperson, Centre for Public Policy, IIMB.
