Bangalore, 25th June, 2016: Vasu agarbathis, a brand under Cycle Pure Agarbathies, World’s largest incense stick manufacturer presented Reflections 2016, a state-level singing competition which took place on 24th of June at Chowdiah Memorial Hall, Bangalore.


Reflections 2016 – Bringing back Raju Live and Alive, was an initiative of Mandra Cultural Foundation in remembrance of late Sri Raju Ananthaswamy, a renowned Kannada music composer and singer and son of late Sri Mysore Ananthaswamy who was one of the pioneers of Kannada Bhavageethe in Karnataka. With this event, Mandra Cultural Foundation plans to make Reflections an annual festival to propagate Kannada music and literature. The preliminary rounds of the singing competition happened between 18th and 19th of June at Mysore and 9 major districts.

Reflections 2016, was a day-long celebrationwith the contenders singing the compositions of Sri Raju. The event also included a workshop by Praveen D Rao, appreciating Raju’s music in the august presence of noted singer Hamsalekha and SandeepChowta. Actors Sudeep and PuneetRajkumar from Sandalwood accompanied by popular singer Vijay Prakashwere the Chief Guests for the show that evening.

Sreya Bhat and Srikara took the winner’s trophy home from Senior and Junior category respectively. They both were jubilant at winning the competition, and thanked everyone for such an opportunity to honour a legendary musician.
