Bengaluru, May 5, 2016: Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF), the biggest organizer of Olympiads for school students in the world, has launched two new Olympiad exams in Bengaluru partnering globally renowned organizations. The newly launched Olympiad exams are – International Sports Knowledge Olympiad (ISKO) and International Company Secretaries Olympiad (ICSO).

SOF is launching ISKO in association with STAR SPORTS (India’s largest sports channel). The ISKO will include Sports & General Knowledge questions and students from classes one to ten may appear in the ISKO. Awards/scholarships worth around Rs. 2.25 crore will be provided to winners/participants. In addition, for the first time, select state topper students will be invited to appear on a special program on Star Sports channel.

Likewise, SOF has launched ICSO in association with The Institute of Company Secretaries of India, under The Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Govt. of India. The ICSO will be for students of classes 11 & 12 and is designed to assist students realize their aptitude & potential for Company Secretary’s profession. Students from all streams – Science, Commerce & Humanities may appear in the ICSO. The international topper from each class will be awarded a cash scholarship of Rs one lakh each. Over Rs. 50 lacs will be awarded to winners of ICSO.

It may be noted SOF is already partnering The British Council for International English Olympiad.

Mr. Mahabir Singh, Founder & Executive Director, SOF, indicated that for the current year students and schools would be recognized & felicitated with awards & scholarships worth over Rs. fourteen crore. He also revealed that registrations for current year are open and registration forms had been sent to schools.

According to ICSI President, C S Mamta Binani, the CS Olympiad is being conducted to help students evaluate themselves at school/city/state/national level and decide on their professional career at an early stage. It will also help students understand how competent they are among their peers.

It may be noted that SOF has been organizing Olympiad exams for over 20 years. For the year 2015-16, over 34000 schools in 1400 cities in India and 22 countries across the world registered for the Olympiads and millions of students appeared in the following four exams – SOF – National Cyber Olympiad; SOF – National Science Olympiad; SOF – International Mathematics Olympiad and SOF – International English Olympiad.

In addition to organizing Olympiads, SOF also runs a scholarship scheme – The Girl Child Scholarship Scheme (GCSS) under which each year 300 academically inclined girl students from financially underprivileged families are provided with an annual scholarship to assist them pursue school education. SOF also provides books and study material to needy students.
