Bangalore, February 23, 2016: Pearson’s Edexcel, the world’s leading provider of academic qualifications, has launched a new examination series for Class XII students enrolled for Edexcel International A Levels (IAL).

Until now, learners of Edexcel IAL availed exams twice in a year – January and May/June. As a fresh introduction, an additional exam series will be available in October as well. This year, under the new series, IAL exams are expected to be organised between October 10, 2016 and November 10, 2016.

Edexcel IAL is developed by international education specialists with an aim to prepare global learners. Based on rigorous standards of Edexcel qualifications, the Edexcel IAL is based on flexible, modular structure. The flexible structure enables students to attend exams throughout the course in a modular fashion.

Edexcel IAL is 100% externally accessed and gives students ongoing feedback on performance, lessons, exam stress, and allows them to re-take modules, if they feel they can improve their grade.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Vikas Singh, Vice-President and Business Head, Higher Ed & Vocational, Pearson India said, “Pearson’s Edexcel examinations offers global progression opportunities to students and over 80 schools in India follow the Edexcel qualification/curriculum. The new exam series in October recognise that learners in international schools work to a variety of different academic year calendars. So Pearson’s aim in introducing the additional series is to give schools and learners’ greater choice and flexibility to take exams at the most suitable time and enable seamless progression from International A level qualifications to degree-level programmes globally.”

Edexcel IAL is available in 10 key subjects for students aged 16-19 years – Accounting, Biology, Business Studies, Chemistry, Economics, English language, English Literature, History, Law, Mathematics, Physics and Psychology.
