The Rotary Club of Bangalore (RCB) along with Hotel Taj West End is hosting the 7th Edition of “ Kala for Vidya”, an exhibition of art works by 40 of India’s leading painters such as Milind Nayak, Yusuf Arakkal,S G Vasudev, Gurudas Shenoy, Paresh Hazra at the Art Corridor, Taj West End from February 5 to 7, 2016.
The event will be inaugurated at 7 pm at the venue by noted danseuse and actor, Ms Lakshmi Gopalaswamy. Artistic director of Samskruithi, Mr Satyanarayana Raju will be the Guest of Honour on the occasion.
“Kala for Vidya is a fund raising initiative that connects the passion for art with the desire to educated underprivileged children,” said RCB President, Rtn Shailesh Rudra.
“It is a rare opportunity for patrons of art to purchase works that will grace their homes and offices while helping to realize the dreams of hundreds of children who aspire for a better tomorrow on the foundation of a solid education,” Mr Rudra added.
The funds raised from the exhibition will be used to educate more than 500 children free of cost at the Rotary Bangalore Vidyalaya, Nagadevanahalli. The children are from underprivileged sections of the society. Funds will also be used to construct modern buildings for a dozen government schools in Malur in rural Bengaluru area.
