Bangalore, December 23, 2015: It’s that time of the year again. Nothing spells festive cheer like streets decked with streamers and lights, like homes putting their brightest stars on display and like the numerous twinkling star lights on the Christmas Tree. At St. Martha’s Hospital too, Christmas is being celebrated with great fervor with each department putting up a crib of their own.

There is some festive competitiveness that is going around the hospital. Each department of St. Martha’s has set out a Christmas crib to the joy of everyone – patients, visitors and the doctors themselves.

Over 28 departments in the hospital depicted unique kind of cribs showing utmost creativity . PICU department depicted an aquatic theme, physiotherapy department represented the theme of save the world and created the crib with the recycled products, General maternity department showcased a shadow theme and the Medical Records Department created the crib with thermacol and illustrated the winter theme.

On the midnight of Christmas each crib will have baby Jesus kept to announce his birth on the Big Day of Christmas.

Speaking on the cribs being set up across the hospital, Jayakar Jerome, the Director of St. Martha’s Hospital says, “Christmas is a festival that is celebrated by everyone, irrespective of communities. Setting up the cribs is a collective effort and one that every member of the medical and non-medical community has participated in. We could not think of a better way to ring in the joy of Christmas”.
