Namma Bengaluru Awards (NBA) is an initiative to celebrate, honor and glorify exceptional individuals who have been at the forefront of the fight for a Better Bengaluru. NBA is proud to celebrate the exemplary achievements of individuals who have been instrumental in rekindling the passion of creating a Better Bengaluru. The recipients of these awards, over the past years, have sparked our imaginations of a better city and have helped transform our understanding of accountability towards change.
One such past awardee is Mr. Trivikrama Mahadev an undertaker in the city of Bangalore, India who ferries unclaimed bodies and organizes their funeral. He has so far organized funeral of over 80,000 human bodies.
These awards embody the very spirit of humanity and common good that these exceptional individuals reflect. The winners will be awarded prize money of Rs 2 lakhs. Operating on the tenets of transparency, Namma Bengaluru Awards nominations are made by citizens. The 2015 awards program includes a total of 6 award categories. The current edition of NBA has reduced the number of categories from 14 to 6 with the intent to focus primarily on individual contributions by people from different walks of life who have worked tirelessly for the city. The nomination period for this edition is open from 1st Dec2015 – 31st Dec 2015.
