The Green Bazaar-8, Bangalore’s favourite earth-friendly bazaar, is back. In its 8th avatar, it is centred around the theme – Design Matters. Can Channapatna toys be revived so they become appealing to a wider audience? How can we build retirement villages for our fast-aging population? Can video games teach young people to care about the environment? And can we grow affordable, pesticide-free vegetables in Bangalore?

Our city is home to an incredible pool of passionate people who are thinking of how we can design products and experiences that power our everyday life to be brighter, better, resource-efficient, and sustainable.

While there is a growing consciousness among urban consumers about natural, handmade, cruelty-free, recycled, chemical-free and fair trade products, our local heroes are asking fundamental questions about the design, reusability, affordability, shelf-life and supply chain of things that can create lasting value for the consumer and the community.

The Green Bazaar 8 Design Matters will celebrate the importance of design – by bringing these makers and consumers, artists and technologists, experts and citizens, designers and entrepreneurs – together under one roof. It will also feature a Design Hackathon, a one-of-its kind event for student innovators, who can get hands-on at using design to affect positive change!

The Green Bazaar 8 has something for everyone, with workshops for adults, activities for children, inspiring talks by local experts and an open-mic session where makers invite you to listen and watch the exciting story of how they build their products.

This 22nd and 23rd November, celebrate a fun, family-friendly weekend with a difference at the Green Bazaar 8. And as always, Bangaloreans can stock up on the freshest fruits and vegetables from local farms in the city and buy everything that is handcrafted with a difference, chemical-free, natural in our thoughtfully curated bazaar section.
