Theoretical and practical aspects of film-making sing together in this unique workshop designed to introduce you to film making. We have a special line up of members from the film industry to make this an exciting and memorable five days! Abhay Simha (of Shikhari and Sakkare fame) will be your mentor and guide throughout the workshop, training you in each step of film-making. Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar will be interacting with you regularly, offering guidance, feedback and support at every stage. Directors Pawan Kumar (of Lucia and Lifu Ishtene fame) and Yograj Bhatt will help you transform your vision of a story into a screenplay, and write dialogues. Manohar Joshi (of Bahuparak fame) will teach camera aspects. Music director Arjun Janya (of Romeo and Alemari fame) will be joining you on the final day to score music for your film. Editors and camerapersons from the film or television industry will help you shoot and edit the film. You will be introduced to the latest version of FCP, the most current editing software used in the industry, HD Camera. A host of fresh, vibrant actors from Tent Cinema’s school of acting will be available for you to cast and audition in your film. By the end of the workshop, you will have experienced all aspects of film-making: you will have directed a short film.

This workshop is designed not only to introduce you to film, but also to help you explore your passion for the various opportunities cinema provides. You will grasp the roles and responsibilities of the different departments within film: direction, camera and lighting, art direction, sound, editing, costume design, music, and so on. While some of you might like to direct, others with a more artistic bent of mind might be attracted towards art direction; some students are fascinated by the mechanics of the camera; others are musically oriented; film accommodates people with varied talents, and helps you define your particular brand of creativity.

All students will be given participation certificates at the end of the course.
