Bengaluru,  May, 2014 – PURNABRAMHA, the first ever authenticMaharashtrian Vegetarian cuisine restaurant opened at HSR Layout. Inaugurated by famous Marathi actor and food expert, Prashant Damle, the new restaurant is the brainchild of four young IT professionals who aim to provide sumptuous food with a dash of Marathi culture in a perfectly Maharashtrian ambience.

Speaking at the inauguration, Prashant Damle, while encouraging the effort, said it is not just the Marathi diaspora but the metropolitan nature of Bengaluru will love Maharashtrian food for its taste and health richness.“Maharashtrian food is a classic example of balanced diet. With the right mix of spices, this food is one of the most famous cuisines for good health,” said Prashant at the inauguration function.

Jayanti Kathale, Founder at Purnabramha foods said, “Purnabramha is largely influenced by the people who are missing Maharashtrian food in Namma Bengaluru and surrounding areas. It will be our endeavour to make Purnabramha memorable not only for its subtle variety and strong flavours, but also for genuine Maharashtrian hospitality.”

Dwelling on the Maharashtrian experience, Jayanti elaborated on the nitty gritties that complete the experience. “Purnabramha aims at serving culture with food. Aesthetic presentation of food, which adds extra allure to the feasts, practice of singing sacred verses to dedicate the meal to God, option to sit on floor rugs or red wooden seats and eat from silver or metal thalis and bowls placed on a raised ‘chowrang’, or a short decorative table, rangolis or auspicious coloured patterns around the thali or the chowrang, bowl of saffron scented water to dip the fingers in before starting on the next course to avoid mixing of flavours, among others, add to the Maharashtrian aura. Scented agarbattis (incense sticks) spread fragrance everywhere and provides the right positive and joyful experience to every guest at Purnabramha.”

Purnabramha’s launch witnessed quite a few celebrities including author Roopa Pai, Industrialist Rajeev Potnis and IT honcho Sanjay Shinde among others.
